I’m convinced that K1 has the flu (as in the real flu) - last night he was running a 102° temp with chills and the works. He’s missed 2 days of work so far, which is really unusual for him as he never gets sick.
I’m just glad I got my flu shot (K1 didn’t) because so far I’m feeling OK. Every once in awhile I think I might be getting sick (my nose is a bit runny) but I really do feel fine.
… still using my hand sanitizer like a crazy woman and doing a lot of hand-washing. I’ve changed the sheets on the bed and the towels in the bathroom a few times in the last couple of days to try to keep us as germ-minimum as possible… although, this doesn’t do much to improve my ever-increasing laundry pile.
The Kidlet has been away since Friday morning (yes, I let him skip one day of school) with his dad and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he won’t come home sick or become sick from K1. Keeping sickness to a minimum around here is priority numero uno.
Took a trip to the natural food store in Clearwater, yesterday, for a bunch of homeopathic remedies that I like. Could they be the reason K1 is feeling better today (than he has in 4 days) since I’m making him take them? Methinkso…
I’m actually enjoying taking care of K1 because I don’t get to do it often. Since I’m the one who is always ’sick’ it feels awesome to return the favor(s). In the meantime, K1 says, “*cough* *Cough* *HACK*” and hello, too. :)

I don’t blame your enthusiasm for sanitation but you remind me of a funny story “Towels” I read in my childhood, in which a wife had hygiene-phobia and the poor husband had difficulty to remember the invidual puposes of the 100s of towels in his house and the sanitation rules set by his wife. I hope K2 is not the poor one and wish him speedy recovery :) !

Yes, I have to be somewhat phobic about germs since I’m already immunosuppressed from my kidney transplant anti-rejection medications :) Usually I’m just fine at home (we do have to keep track of my 7 year old son to make sure he always washes his hands, but he’s usually pretty good) but public places are sometimes a different story :) I always carry hand sanitizer with me LOL

So is the #1 fashion accessory an filter mask?
Funny thing.. After getting the shot last year (for the send time in my life and of course getting the flu anyway. again only after I got the shot back in 98) I decided to pass on it this year. It seems that (by a number of CDC reports) that they goofed and did not get the strain right and we are seeing a mini-flu-epedemic.
I see those masks everywhere. It looks like China back in the SARS years.
Oh and on the laundry front.. Friday we had our new washer & dryer ($2000 worth of Whirlpool front loaders) arrive. We have been doing laundry all weekend sort of testing em out. So far so good.. We washed our queen sized comforter easily.. but it took 3 hrs to dry it. Everything else is good so far.
Stay healty!

Yeah, I’ve heard about the flu vaccine not being as effective this year as in past years. Still, I’m glad I got it to protect me from whatever strains it does protect me from (and it’s mandatory for me anyway, so I don’t have a choice…)
We got our front-loaders earlier this year and I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVE them. Aren’t they so much more convenient and more efficient, too???
