I don’t know if reading this book as a teen (in the early 90’s) helped me understand myself and the fact that I had/have an eating disorder, or if it possibly reinforced my ED.
I still struggle today, as a 30’s-something mother and wife, with food in every aspect. Sometimes I think back to reading this book and wonder if I should love it (for letting me know I wasn’t alone) or hate it (for letting me know I wasn’t alone).

If I can stop laughing for just one itty bitty second to write this blog post, then I promise I’ll have a point*. In the meantime - I’m sorry, but I don’t understand the worth (or time and energy) in getting angry about a reference to adoption in a McDonald’s fast food commercial. Seriously.

I just found the coolest thing ever from ThinkGeek.com… I’m fairly certain that the ThinkGeek ‘geekers’ didn’t surmise that their new LED Faucet Lights would be amusing for anyone other than… say, geeks… however, I see the potential of colored water getting a fussy preschool non-handwasher washing with glee!
Here’s the part that (I think) will inspire your kids: The Chrome Blue/Red LED model normally streams BLUE LED’s until the water temperature hits 89 degrees* after which the LEDs turn RED.
So, how does it work? “Just attach to the end of your faucet (universal adapters included), and when the water flows through the magic chamber, it simply turns on the LED array and illuminates the stream with soothingly powerful hues.”
Most of us know that *children should wash their hands in warm, not hot water and getting the temperature ‘just right’ will be fun for your kidlet - with the added benefit of canceling Jr.’s fears of the water being ‘too hot’ or ‘too cold’ (and hopefully accompanied by the disappearance of the whine “MOMMY can you do it for me??“)
In the meantime… I’m so buying one of these for myself and one for my son.

I’ve had such an awesome day (no really, I’m serious!) and now I’m gonna party with all the other party people… Wanna join me? (we could even call it a date if you’d like… as long as you’re female, ’cause no boys are allowed at this party!) With this post I’m giving you my personal invitation to attend The Ultimate Blog Party 2008 hosted by 5 Minutes for Mom that began on March 7th and goes through the 14th.
