Will You Give Le Mime a Dime?

Everyone talks about change these days, and change is what this world needs.

My friend Taylor Barr wants to go to Paris because he’s all about changing the world we live in - for the better. But in order for him to go, he needs some help.

This is a short, silent film was created to raise money to send Taylor Barr to the LeWeb ‘08 conference in Paris, France. “Taylor the Mime” doesn’t say a word, but there’s no mistaking exactly what he wants to do!

If just 80 people donated $25 each, Taylor will meet his goal to attend LeWeb 2008. Taylor wants you to know:

“I am trying to raise money for a plane ticket to the LeWeb 2008 Conference in Paris, France on December 9th/10th of this year…

LeWeb is not just another conference. It is an event created by Geraldine & Loïc Le Meur looking to inspire conversation on wider array of topics than just technology. Yeah, technology is an important aspect of our future, but can technology be used in other sectors as well? Perhaps for social change?…

I want to go to the conference to discuss with companies and startups and invoke conversation on how we can change the world. I strongly believe that technology will play a huge role in accommodating and perhaps solving some of the world’s most difficult issues.”

Handle With Care - My Vulnerabilities

Maybe there’s a reason I haven’t had a “best friend” in over 7 years. I no longer trust or love easily.

When I was younger and living in CA (which was probably the most awesome and life-defining four years of my life) I had a huge group of friends. Every single friend was someone I trusted deeply; I gave my raw emotional love to them freely, and with absolute and total trust that my vulnerabilities were safe. The same was shared with me, and it went both ways.

Love and friendship are about being vulnerable and trusting that the other person won’t ever use those vulnerabilities against you.

goodbye

tonight we said goodbye. i still want to know how can i say goodbye? it’s not fair. i don’t want to say goodbye. i shouldn’t have to say goodbye. no one should’ve. how?

with carefully selected songs she would’ve mostly liked and hopefully wouldn’t have hated

but, none of it fits.

they played taps, they folded the flag. they presented it to her mother (who was sitting right in front of me) they saluted her. is that goodbye?

the priest prayed. blessings. hymns. prayers. is that goodbye?

the eulogy, oh. i cried and cried and cried. it still wasn’t goodbye…

a week ago she was here. a week ago, tomorrow morning, was the last time i saw her - at starbucks! we didn’t say goodbye, she said

“i’ll see you at my place this weekend, right?“

i spent all weekend at her house, but for another reason

i can’t say goodbye.

Get off my back

Some people who think I can be a superhero in everyone’s time of ‘need’ need to just get the f*ck off my back. I’m doing everything I can as fast as I can. A website, a photo presentation, hundreds of photos to go through, dozens to scan/edit… geezus.

The photos will be up on her website just as soon as I can get to it. JUST AS SOON AS I CAN.

I can’t go any faster.
