By it’s nature, blogging is dramatic, selfish, mean-spirited and oftentimes hurtful. Let’s face it, not everyone is going to agree with your (or my) opinion, and if you read it (or write it) chances are you’ll have your feelings hurt at some point.

No matter what ‘type’ of parent you are - be it biological, adoptive, first, foster, step - YOU MADE THAT CHOICE. The opposite of that choice was to walk away, terminate, obliterate, or sever either the life of a human being or your other emotional ties to the relationship that made you become a parent.
There are a lot of complexities to the emotions that go into our decisions, but when it comes down to it, the bottom line is: If you are a biological parent, you chose to be so by having sex. If you’re an adoptive or foster parent you chose to be so by signing your name to the paperwork. If you’re a first parent you chose to continue to allow the life to grow within you (or within your partner). If you are a step-parent you chose to be so by having a relationship with your child’s mother or father.
You chose that child. You chose to be his or her parent. YOU. CHOSE.
